Sir-Prize discovered his
passion for music By the age of 14 entering Washington Irving
high school. From being in cypher's in the lunch room, front of the school, to on the back of the 4/5 train with the lights cut off. Thru it all Sir-Prize was around the Hip Hop scene DJing with a crew " Tape
Master crew " who were DJ Kid NU & DJ Mike Nice kna Mike Neezy. They were playing at clubs and local house parties so Sir-Prize
was always into Hip Hop and other music that moved the crowd. The path Sir-Prize was on never was easy, in fact it was a struggle being the only
child. He started writing poems and singing them over the beats of his
favorite artists and musical influences. He soon began to record those
tracks in his home and sell the CD’s to friends and fans across his
home city The Bronx. Sir-Prize became to form a group called " T.H.U.G" (
Time Has Us Grounded ) Committee with some neighborhood friends as a
mean of gaining experience and they earned respect performing at
showcases and releasing numerous projects.
Sir-Prize was signed with Paragon MGMT. in late 1998 under the name Kid MC. Dealing with them he felt
they
wasn't benefiting him so he asked for a mutual release from the
contract and it was granted. By 2000 he came up with the name SIR-PRIZE
connecting with a crew called Numbskullz formed by producer Butterfingaz aka Vinny Idol in the wakefield section of the Bronx. At this time his musical career started to explode with more fans every day, and
new music he was constantly releasing. After receiving a positive vibe
regarding his musical ability he went straight to the internet to gain
a larger fan base. In 1999 Sir-Prize became a father to daughter Jayda Marie. On a constant grind in 2003, he appeared on the famed Amateur
Night At The Apollo twice performing his hit single U.S.A ( Un-Signed
Artist ).
In 2003 Sir-Prize
has performed at local
clubs and venues, as well as auditioning and appearing in Adam Sandler
movie "Anger Management movie". Now the talent has performed in over
eighty venues,
festivals, and fundraisers, has been featured on FM radio, internet radio, and amassed
mentions in the press spotlighting his soulful, hiphop style of genre-bending, boundary pushing music. Sir-Prize has
recently been featured in 1212 Magazine, has opened up for stars like Trina, Bone Crusher, Cassidy and Mr Cheeks.
In 2016 he relocated to Charlotte, NC and released 2 new mixtapes, titled "Back By Popular Demand" hosted by DJ Chuck T and "Just In Time" followed by 3 new singles.
